Application Information
"Special Event" refers to any planned, extraordinary, temporary use of public right-of-way or public premises. The purpose of the application is to ensure that the event is well-organized and does not disrupt public safety or traffic flow. Permits are typically required for events involving 25 or more people, particularly those that make use of public streets, sidewalks, or parks. Examples of such events include, but are not limited to, parades, processions, demonstrations, bicycle or foot races, and festivals.
Applications should be submitted 30 days before the event. For large-scale events involving 150 or more people, applications must be submitted at least 90 days in advance.
Other Requirements:
- Please provide a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability coverage and name the Village of Poynette as an Additional Named Insured.
- If alcohol will be served at your event, a Picnic License must be obtained.
- Please clearly state any street closures in your application.
- If you require assistance from the Village, please outline your requests in as much detail as possible. For example, if you need barricades, specify how many and what type.
- If your event requires the presence of the Police or the Fire Department, please include detailed information about what you will need from them.
- Additionally, a safety plan must be included with your application.
