Board of Review
Purpose
The purpose of the Board of Review is to assure that all assessments in the Village of Poynette are correct and fair. The board shall begin it’s deliberations with the presumption that the assessor's valuation is correct. That presumption may be rebutted by a sufficient showing by the objector that the valuation is incorrect. From the evidence before it the board shall determine whether the assessor's assessment is correct. If the assessment is too high or too low, the board shall raise or lower the assessment accordingly and shall state on the record the correct assessment, and that the assessment is reasonable in light of all of the relevant evidence that the board received.

Purpose
When a municipality adopts zoning rules and regulations it is required to also create a board of appeals. The board of appeals purpose is to review and decide cases where there is an alleged error in a zoning decision or where a relaxation of the ordinance is sought.

Ethics Board
Purpose
The proper operation of democratic government requires that public officials be independent, impartial, and responsible to the people; that government decisions and policy be made in the proper channels of the governmental structure; that public office not be used for personal gain; and that the public have confidence in the integrity of its government. In recognition of these goals, there is hereby established a Code of Ethics for all Village of Poynette officials, whether elected or appointed, paid or unpaid, including members of boards, committees, and commissions of the Village.
The Ethics Boards duties include administer and enforcing the provisions of the Ethics Code.

Park & Recreation Commission

The Park and Recreation Commission oversees and is responsible for the management, control, improvement, and care of all public parks and Village owned athletic fields and recreational facilities; to include its parks, trails, shelters, and other associated facilities. The Park and Recreation Commission is also responsible to the establishment and oversight of any recreational programs offered by the Village. The Parks and Recreation Commission makes recommendations for expenditures within the general fund subject to Village Board approval.

The plan commission performs a wide variety of functions related to community planning and land use development. Formal roles are outlined in state statutes and local ordinances while informal roles evolve as a result of the nature of the plan commission’s work. Typical roles include: community planning, plan implementation, public participation and education, development review, referrals and advisory opinions.

Police Discipline Committee
Purpose
The PDC serves as a committee that meets the requirements set forth in WI State Statute 61.65(1)(am). The PDC reviews all matters that may result in the suspension, reduction, suspension and reduction, or removal of the police chief or other law enforcement officer that is not probationary.

Poynette-Dekorra Fire Protection Dist. Commission
Purpose
The Poynette-Dekorra Fire Protection District is an intergovernmental entity established between the Village of Poynette, Town of Dekorra and Town of Lowville to provide fire protection, emergency medical service and other emergency services for all persons and property within the District's boundaries.
The Poynette-Dekorra Fire Protection District is an intergovernmental entity established between the Village of Poynette, Town of Dekorra and Town of Lowville to provide fire protection, emergency medical service and other emergency services for all persons and property within the District's boundaries.
The District is governed by an agreement approved by the municipalities.
