Refuse & Recycling

Columbia County Recycling picks up the Village of Poynette residential and business garbage and recyclables every Friday.  For questions, comments or complaints please call (608)742-6651.

All waste must be in a container, plastic refuse bag or carton suitable for containing and handling the meterial, with no single container larger than a normal refuse container and/or a gross weight of fifty (50) pounds.

Tires, automotive batteries, yard waste, construction materials and toxic hazardous waste will not be picked up with weekly trash collection.
Special arrangements can be made for the collection of tires, appliances and large furniture pieces; call (608)742-6651 for pick up and payment arrangements.  Special Pickup Charges apply, please identify yourself as a resident of the Village of Poynette when you call.

What to recycle?  Clean plastic bottles and jars, glass bottles and jars, tin and aluminum cans.  Plastic bottles can be placed in plastic bags if you have more than what will fit into the recycle bin.  Paper and magazines can be placed into paper bags or bundled together and set along side of or on top of the recycle bin.  Carboard shouldbe flattended, tied and placed next to the recycle bin.
